This recipe explains how to set up a scheduling link in the Website Chat conversation. Once this link is configured, visitors to your website can book a demo with your team with the click of a button.

What you’ll need
- Access to the Website Chat Preview Tool
- How to Activate the Conversation Editor
- An active link for an external scheduling service website (i.e. Calendly or Chili Piper)
Creating a "schedule demo" Quick Reply button
Follow these steps to configure a Quick Reply button that visitors can click when they want to schedule a demo with your team.
- From the Conversica dashboard Access the Conversation Editor.
- Hover over the Website Chat Outreach conversation and select your active list from the Drop Down.
- Hover over the first Representative Response field and click Edit.
- Locate the “A call to action” Response category and click the edit icon.
- Update the text to “I’d like to schedule a demo” and click the checkmark.
- Confirm the “Show Button:” is checked to create a Quick Reply button in chat.
- Click Save Changes then click Close to return to the Conversation Editor.
Editing the conversation to provide a scheduling link
Follow these steps to edit the Website Chat Outreach conversation so your Revenue Digital Assistant can provide a scheduling link to visitors who request to schedule a demo with your team.
- From the Conversation Editor locate the Website Chat Outreach conversation and select your active Client List
- Hover over your Revenue Digital Assistant’s messaging for Additional Outreach (Chat) and click Review/ Edit.
- Edit the Action Link field to reflect your scheduling link URL.
- Edit the Action Type field to state “schedule a demo.”
- Click Save Changes.
Using customizations to embed a scheduling link within Website Chat
Complete these steps to create custom Javascript to embed the scheduling link into the chat widget on your website.
- Open the Website Chat Preview Tool link provided to you by Conversica.
- In the Customizations section add the following text:

"embedURLs": [ { "URL": "Insert scheduling link URL" } ]
- Some scheduling services may work best when embedded in a larger chat window. If that is the case you can add width and height customizations to the “embedURLs” object.

- Click Submit.
- If your customizations result in any errors, the Preview Tool will notify you.
- If there are no errors, The Preview Tool will reload and display your chat avatar and customizations for you to review.
- Once you’re satisfied, copy the Javascript and deploy this code to your website.
Note: Some scheduling services may not support embedded links inside the chat widget. If so, consider using the steps outlined in our Website Chat Recipe: Creating a Popup Window for Live Chat.
