The Salesforce user you designate as your Conversica API User serves as the main integration point where Conversica sends and receives data. Conversica requires the object, field, and system permissions outlined in this article to be able to successfully message leads and contacts, and send insights back to Salesforce.
Important note as you review the required permissions below: The API User has to be set up with a standard Salesforce User License, not the Salesforce Integration license that blocks several key App and System Permissions Conversica needs to function (like Access Activities and Edit Tasks). Having a full Salesforce license also gives the user the UI access needed to hit the "Authorize" button during onboarding. Once that connection is successfully made, you can easily lock down the account to API-only access so this user is unable to log into the UI. Just flip on the API Only User setting on the user's profile or through a permission set. The core Salesforce license stays active the entire time; the API Only update simply layers on the UI restriction after setup is complete. |
In addition to the specified field permissions per object outlined in the table below, please ensure the Conversica API User has access to Read/Edit/Create/Modify All for the Lead and Contact objects, in addition to all fields on the Task object.
To ensure Conversica is able to successfully create tasks when a lead responds to the assistant, please ensure the system permissions Access Activities and Edit Tasks are granted in addition to the requested object permissions below.
