To seamlessly integrate Conversica with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), customers are required to install the Server2Server managed package within their SFMC environment. The credentials obtained from this installation will be essential for configuring the Conversica and SFMC integration in step 2 of the integration process.
Note: While your SFMC environment may already have a Server2Server package installed, it is recommended to install an additional Server2Server package to ensure compatibility with the Conversica integration. Server2Server app needs to be installed in the business unit that is going to be used for the Conversica integration. It CANNOT be installed in a parent or sibling BU.
Kickstarting the integration between Conversica and Salesforce Marketing Cloud, we'll guide you through the process of installing and configuring the Conversica Server2Server Package with these 10 essential steps to swiftly set up this package.
1. In SFMC, access Setup from the user name in the top right corner.
2. Within the Setup menu's left panel, expand the Apps dropdown, then select Installed Packages.
3. Click New from the top right corner of the screen.
4. Fill in Conversica Server2Server in the name field.
Note: The Description field is optional.
5. Click Save.
6. Select Add Component at the page's bottom.
7. Choose API Integration and then proceed by clicking Next.
8. Select Server to Server and then proceed by clicking Next.
9. Configure the Server-to-Server Properties by checking the scope boxes provided below.
Channels Section: Select all checkboxes
Contacts Section: Select all checkboxes
Cross Cloud Platform Section: Select all checkboxes under the Connect category
Data Section: Select all checkboxes
Event Notifications Section: Select all checkboxes
Provisioning Section: Select all checkboxes under the Packages & Users categories
Webhooks Section: Select all checkboxes
10. You've successfully installed the Conversica Server2Server package, and your screen should resemble this:
Note: Remember to capture the Client ID, Client Secret, and only the domain of the Authentication Base URI (https:// not needed). These credentials will be essential for implementation step 2 to establish the connection between the two systems.
Example of Authentication Base URI domain: https://mcl5cb1vl535k1plk4ftxr6vvzs8.auth.marketingcloudapis.com/ should be shortened to mcl5cb1vl535k1plk4ftxr6vvzs8.
With the Server2Server package installed and scoped, it's time to download and configure the Conversica application. Ensure you have your credentials ready!
