There may be times when a lead or customer wants to opt-out of further contact. Perhaps they are no longer in the market, or they no longer wish to receive emails at the address provided when they signed up. No matter the reason, Conversica gives contacts the ability to unsubscribe or decline further contact to remain compliant with anti-spam legislation.
How Unsubscribes Work
When a lead or customer no longer wants to receive email communications, they can click the Unsubscribe link in any message to opt-out. When they click this link, the conversation will immediately stop, and they will be opt-out of future messages.
Conversica will set an unsubscribe flag in our system and any connected integrated system, as appropriate.
How Do Not Email Requests Work
When a lead or customer responds to a message requesting no further contact, the AI-powered assistant can interpret and process the response as a do not email request. There is any number of ways that a contact can respond that will be properly identified as a Do Not Email request. When a Do Not Email request is received, the Assistant will immediately stop messaging, and the contact will receive no future emails from Conversica. We will set a Do Not Email flag in our system and any connected integrated system, as appropriate.
Best Practice: Do Not Email Requests
Handling Do Not Email Requests Outside of Conversica
There are instances when a lead/customer makes a Do Not Email request that Conversica is otherwise unable to pick up on. For example, if a lead or customer verbally requests to be opt-out of email contact during a phone call with the Rep. If this occurs, be sure to Stop Messaging the lead in Conversica's dashboard to immediately stop the conversation. Then update your integrated system to reflect the lead or customer's Do Not Email request so that they do not receive any future emails from Conversica or your business.
Stay Opt-In to Do Not Email Alerts
Do Not Email alerts are one of the recommended alert settings. Remain opt-in to this alert type so you know when a lead makes a Do Not Email request and you can verify this request is updated in your integrated system so that your business does not send them any further email through other sales or marketing campaigns that you may be running alongside Conversica. Refer to Alert Settings 101 for instructions to change your alert settings.
Viewing Unsubscribes or Do Not Email Requests in the Dashboard
You can view a list of leads or customers that unsubscribed or made a do not email request in the Lead Manager.
- From Conversica's dashboard, navigate to Lead Manager.
- Click More Filters.
- Click the Conversation Status filter and from the drop-down menu select:
- Do Not Email to filter to leads or clients that responded with a Do Not Email request.
- Unsubscribed to filter to leads or clients that clicked the Unsubscribe link.
