Prerequisites
- Established API access with Conversica
- Conversica API User has the correct user permissions
- Assistant Settings complete: name, title, email, working hours
- Email setup complete
- At least one Salesforce Campaign setup and synced to Conversica
- At least one Sales Rep added to the Conversica Dashboard
- The Default Sales Rep is in place
Testing Instructions
Testing is completed prior to Activating your Conversica Account. A test is considered successful once we are able to confirm:
- Test Leads are pulled into the Conversica System
- Messaging is populating correctly
- Your Assistant is able to send and receive email
- Conversica data and field information is populating correctly in Salesforce
Creating Test Leads
It is best to create brand new lead(s) in Salesforce for testing. In order to bypass the fact that your Conversica Account is not active, your Technical Account Manager will provide a test token to use as the Last Name for the test lead(s) that you create. The test token also allows you to add the same email address to the system multiple times. Each test token contains 10 test leads by default, and the limit can be increased for additional testing if needed. Here is a list of requirements for the test lead:
- Test Token is used in the last name field
- Internal email address - we are testing email functionality, emails will be sent to the email addresses used for the test leads. Only requirement is that they are valid. (Ex. Customer org email addresses)
- Note- Same email address can be used for multiple test leads
- Email Opt Out Field is not selected
Example Test lead:
- Test Token: lakdshfald
- First name: Bob
- Last name: lakdshfald
- Email Address: example_interal_email@customerdomain.com
Adding Test Leads to Conversica
In order to test you will add test lead(s) to the Salesforce Campaign(s) that you have setup and synced to Conversica. There are several ways to add leads to Campaigns in Salesforce. For more information on adding Leads to Campaigns please reference the following Salesforce Help Articles:

How To Use Your Test Lead Token (Salesforce)
Once you have added your test leads you will see the following actions should take place:
- Test Lead(s) will show up in the Conversica Dashboard within 5-10 minutes
- The Email address associated with the test lead will receive the email from your newly created assistant
- Conversica Custom fields will populate on the lead record in Salesforce
Lastly, the recipient of the test emails should respond to the email in order to confirm that we are able to successfully receive the response into the Conversica System.
Note: For duplicate checking purposes, emails that have plus addressing added (+1 or +test) will be duped against each other.
Please work with your Technical Account Manager to verify that all aspects of your setup are working correctly. After a successful test, your account will be ready for activation.
