The testing process (and where Test Lead Tokens fit in)

While the exact flow of testing will depend on your integration (e.g. Salesforce, Marketo, Eloqua), here’s the basic walkthrough:

1. Once you’ve received a Test Lead Token, create a new lead/contact specific for testing.

2. Add or replace the Last Name of your test lead/contact with the Test Lead Token. You do this by copying and pasting the random characters (which is what the Token is) into the Last Name field. 
   
   Pro Tip: In the contact’s email field, use an email alias to “tag” the test for easy tracking. Create an alias using the “+” symbol in your email address, so it reads john.smith+new_list_test@yourdomain.com
   

3. Apply information to your test contact/lead that is set up in Conversation Rules and/or the data fields, so the right test message is sent.
   
   Example: You’ve established a Conversation Rule to send this message to leads with a type of contract – so this test lead has to have that kind of contract in order to test send.

4. Test the sent message in your email (not just Conversica) and reply to the assistant.

5. Confirm in Conversica that the reply went through and the correct alerts and Rep Assignments are activated.
