Introducing Traffic Control Feature
We're excited to introduce a powerful enhancement to our platform that will revolutionize how
you manage your marketing campaigns, sales activities, and customer success initiatives. With
the new Traffic Control feature, you now have the flexibility to split traffic of a campaign to
different contact lists based on percentages. Let's dive into the key improvements and best
practices to leverage this feature effectively.
How it Works:
The Traffic Control feature empowers you to optimize your campaign performance through
strategic traffic allocation. Here's a step-by-step guide on how it works:
Accessing the Feature:
- Navigate to the Conversica platform and access the Conversation Rules section.
- Click on the Rules Manager and select the option to create a new rule.
Defining Criteria:
- Outline the criteria for your rule as usual, specifying the conditions that trigger the rule activation.
Selecting Contact Lists:
- Within the rule creation modal, you'll have the option to assign multiple contact lists to the rule.
- Choose the contact lists you want to include in the test.
Assigning Percentages:
- For each contact list selected, assign a specific percentage of volume.
- Ensure that the sum of percentages across all contact lists adds up to 100%.
Verifying Settings:
- Review the assigned percentages in the top right corner of the modal to confirm accuracy.
Saving the Settings:
- Once you've finalized the settings, save the rule to apply the Traffic Control feature to your campaign.
Randomized Assignment:
- Leads entering the campaign will be randomly assigned to contact lists based on the specified percentages.
- This randomized assignment ensures unbiased testing and fair distribution of leads across contact lists.
Balancing Volume Over Time:
- While leads are initially assigned based on percentages, the system balances lead volume across contact lists over time.
- This ensures consistency and fairness in lead distribution, allowing for accurate experimentation and performance evaluation.
Best Practices:
- Subset Testing: Start by testing with a small subset, approximately 10% of your target audience, before uploading all contacts to the CRM Campaign or List. Assess and refine messaging strategies before expanding to the full target audience.
- Establish a Baseline: Aim for a sample size that allows for a minimum of 100 conversions per variation to achieve statistical significance. For example, if your baseline conversion rate is 5%, aim for a sample size of at least 2,000 leads per variation.
- Consider Variability in Performance: If there is high variability in performance metrics, consider increasing your sample size by 20-30% to ensure robust results.
- Allocate Time and Resources: Ensure you have sufficient time and manpower to generate and analyze the necessary volume of leads. Consider implementing tests over a longer duration if resources are limited.
We're thrilled to bring you these enhancements to empower you in achieving your marketing,
sales, and customer success goals. Stay tuned for more updates and insights from the
Conversica Community!
