Engaging with Community

Engagement is what this community is all about!

There are many different ways for you to interact with members of the Conversica Community. 

Vote to Make Yourself Heard

Voting in the community is a great way to express what is important to you and the community.

Voting helps increase the visibility of a post as well as increases the chances of other members of the community interacting with your post. The amount of upvotes a post has is displayed on the right-hand side of the community topic page.

To vote on a post, you will first need to click on the title of the post on the topic page. 

If you find the content interesting, engaging, helpful, or worthy of discussion you can upvote the post by clicking on the up icon.

You can vote on comments inside of posts as well!

Voting on comments is a great way for members of the community to highlight a great solution to a problem, an insightful comment, or something they agree with.

You also have the option to downvote a post or comment. You can downvote if you feel like a post is irrelevant or not an adequate solution.

Commenting

Commenting is available on almost all posts within the Conversica Community. 

Do you have follow-up questions after reading a post?

Know the solution to a problem another user is experiencing?

Then post a comment! 

There are many more reasons you may want to leave a comment and you should do so. Comments are one of the quintessential ways to interact with other members of the community.

To leave a comment, click on the comment box located at the bottom of a post.

A text box will appear and this is where you can start writing your comment.

In the text box, you have a variety of tools to edit your text. You can add images, links, quotes, or insert a code block.

When you are finished writing your comment, all that is left to do is click “Submit” and your comment will be posted.

Writing Your First Post

Posts are the bread and butter of the community. We have created many different topics for you to post under. 

To start off creating your first post, you will need to click the new post button in the upper right-hand corner of a topic. Make sure you pick a relevant topic for your post. Posting in the wrong topic can lead to your post being buried or unanswered!

Next, you will need to start filling out the new post form.

1. The title is what most people see first, and will show up on the category page. Your title should make it clear what you want to discuss. 
2. Use the details section to elaborate on your post. You can upload images or paste links here to any relevant content.
3. Select which topic your post fits in best. This will help community members find your post.
4. Click Submit when you’re ready to post.

And that’s it! You’ve made your first post.
